LanguageEnglish is the official language of the Meeting. Disclaimer and Meeting Cancellation PolicyNeither the Association of Cardiac Surgeons (ACS) nor the secretariat of the ACS can accept any liability whatsoever for death, injury or any loss, cost or expense suffered or incurred by any person participating in the meeting, or accompanying a participant, arising from the provision or non-provision of services provided by any subcontractors of ACS and, more specifically, hotel companies, or during transportation of said people by transport operators. Moreover, it is mutually agreed that in the event that the XXVIIth MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION OF CARDIAC SURGEONS was to be cancelled due to fire, explosion, strike, freight embargo, act of God, or public enemy, war, terrorism, civil disturbance, act of any government, epidemic or catastrophe or any circumstances beyond the ACS's control which would prevent its scheduled opening or continuance, the ACS will be free to postpone or cancel the Meeting. The participant hereby expressly waives any claim against ACS and its officers and Meeting management for damages or compensation in such cases. Refund of the amount paid by the participant will be determined after deduction of any amount necessary to cover expenses incurred by the ACS in connection with the meeting. The ACS and its Officers and Meeting Management shall not be financially liable should the meeting be interrupted, cancelled, moved or dates changed except as provided here in. Neither the ACS nor the ACS executive secretariat can give any warranty that a particular person will appear as a speaker or panelist. Dress codeDress code is casual except for the Presidential Dinner where it will be formal. InsuranceThe organizers do not accept responsibility for individual medical, travel or personal insurance. Participants are therefore advised to make arrangement regarding their own personal insurance. DatesThe ACS 2011 will take place from June 15th to 18th, 2011. Le Westin Hotel Montreal Le Westin Montreal is a non-smoking hotel HousingSeveral rooms haves been pre-reserved at the Westin Montreal Hotel. These rooms are available only to delegates that are registered to the ACS 2011 meeting. Participants are invited to make their room reservation directly with the hotel. On-line Meeting RegistrationRegistration fees must be paid in full by credit card only, at the time of registration. You will be asked to provide your Customer Verification Number (CVN), located at the back of your credit card. Cheques or bank drafts are not accepted as methods of payment. Once you have completed and submitted your registration and payment on-line with PayPal, you will receive an automatic e-mail acknowledgement of your registration for the Meeting. The e-mail will contain a personal reference number (Ref #), which will allow you to log into your personal registration account to update contact information or make a delegate substitution. PayPal, a third-party e-commerce service provider on a secure server, will be collecting e-commerce and cardholder financial information. You will instantly receive a second e-mail confirming your credit card transaction from PayPal. However, the Association of Cardiac Surgeons will not be held responsible for fraudulent credit card transactions. Opening HoursThe Meeting sessions will be held from 08:00 to 18:00 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, June 15th- 17th, and from 08:00 to 16:00 on Saturday, June 18th. ExhibitionAn exhibition presenting medical devices, pharmaceutical products and books will take place in an area immediately adjacent to the meeting ballroom. Access to the exhibition is free for registered participants. The exhibit will be open from June 15th to 18th during meeting hours. AccreditationThis educational program is jointly sponsored by the University of Montreal and McGill University. The Association of Cardiac Surgeons designated this live educational activity for a maximum of 57 AMA PRA category 1 credits. Physicians should only claim credits commensurate to their participation in the activity. Certificates of attendance will be available at the registration desk. CancellationsAll cancellations must be sent to the ACS 2011 secretariat by mail or fax. A $50 (CAD) fee (plus applicable taxes) will apply.
